ESU 13's Student Programs are taking applications for Substitute Teachers for the current school year. This position is an "on-call" basis. A valid Nebraska teaching or Substitute teaching certificate is required.
Current pay rate is $130.00 per day.
Student Programs looking for substitutes are the following:
Meridian - ages 5 to 21 years old
LifeLink Nebraska - ages 18 to 21 years old
Panhandle Beginnings - grades 3rd to 8th grade
DESCRIPTION:
Meridian Teacher: Meridian School is a separate school placement for students with significant support needs. Meridian focuses on life skill academics and functional skills. Students participate in leveled, age-appropriate math, literacy, science, social studies, and social-emotional curriculums.
LifeLink Teacher: This program is a post-secondary program for students ages 18-21 years of age with disabilities. The LifeLink-NE program provides students with transition skills including participating in R-Pad gaining independent living skills; work experiences both paid and/or volunteer; classroom experiences through the Life Centered Education curriculum; community involvement; and taking WNCC classes (credit/audit/community education).
Panhandle Beginnings Teacher: PBDTx is a therapeutic treatment and educational setting that provides an individualized, educational and therapeutic environment which supports social-emotional awareness, and promotes personal growth in a safe, healing environment to help youth reach their full potential
REQUIREMENTS
- Certification or licensure: A valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate or valid Nebraska Substitute Certificate
- Experience: Classroom experience desired. Classroom experience with special needs or behavior students preferred but not required.
- Other requirements:
- ability to physically to lift and position students
- ability to interact effectively with students with varied handicapping conditions, parents, school personnel, agency personnel, and colleagues

Perform duties as prescribed by the laws governing ESUs within the policies established by the Board.
